Sandra's Butterfly Birthday Blog Hop

Hello Crafters! Wecome to Luv Scraping Together!

Sandra from 365 Days of Cricut is celebrating her birthday this weekend with a Butterfly Birthday Blog Hop.  Happy, Happy Birthday, Sandra!! I am thrilled to be part of the celebration!
If you have arrived from Vivi at Vivi en Papel then you are in the right place. If you just happened along and want to start from the beginning click --HERE.

For our projects we were all asked to create something with a butterfly. I thought about it and decided since this was a birthday celebration that I wanted to make cupcake wrappers and toppers.

These were really easy to put together, especially when your daughter makes the cupcakes!

Here is what is needed:
Cupcakes
Life's A Party Cricut cartridge ~ For the wrapper, sized at approx. 1.5 inches. I used the hide contour feature on my Gyspy so that there would be no cutout.
Paper Dolls for Everyday ~ Butterfly, I used the hide contour feature to create a blackout for this butterfly
Echo Park cardstock ~ A Walk in the Park
Recollections cardstock
Lime Green Stickles
Ranger Distress Ink ~ Tea Dye
Misc. ~ foam tape, Scotch Quick dry glue, tooth picks, white gel pen

Before you go don't forget to leave a comment. Sandra is giving away to wonderful prizes. The first is a $20 gift card from Joann Fabrics.

The second prize is from Scrappy Moms Stamps. The new "Quirky Quotes."

You must leave a comment on every blog in the hop and on Sandra's Facebook page to win.

After you leave a comment head on over to see Bonnie from Pink bon bons. I'm sure she has something fabulous for you.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!

You're Out of This World!

Hello Crafty Friends!
Today’s card was made for my nephew. His birthday was yesterday. I tried to make something that would appeal to an 11 year old boy. I don’t know if I hit the mark or not!

I went with a space theme. I used B is for Boy Cricut Lite cartridge to cut my rocket ship and little astronaut. Mini Monsters was used to cut my alien monster. I hand cut the ground that they are standing on and used my Cuttlebug and the Spots and Dots embossing folder for some texture. The background paper comes from My Mind's Eye Party Time stack.

Here is a close up of my little guys face. I used the hide contour feature on my Gypsy to hide his face. I then stamped it with Peachy Keen Stamps PK-642 Boy Mates Face Assortment. I added some silver Stickles to his helmet and then covered his face and helmet with Ranger Glossy Accents. For my monster I decided to give him some googly eyes and only use the nose and mouth of Peachy Keen Stamps PK-692 Monster Mash Face Assortment. I added some Starry Night Stickles to his spots.

My sentiment is fom Scrappy Moms Stamps "A Haunting We Will Go" set. I thought it was perfect for this card. I decided to use black embssing powder to heat emboss it. I love the way it came out!

Some other miscellanous items I used for this card were gems, Black Diamond Stickles, white and black gel pens, foam tape, and my trusty ATG.

Just a reminder, Scrappy Moms Stamps will be giving away an acrylic block to all customers who order this week and put “FCCB” in the instructions to seller sections of Pay Pal.

No Place Like Gnome!

Welcome to Luv Scrapping Together.
Today I have another card featuring Scrappy Moms Stamps new release, “Quirky Quotes.” I just couldn’t resist making something with the sentiment, No Place Like Gnome!

The house is an SVG file and for the life of me I cannot figure out where I bought it. It is an egg house from an Easter collection. I decided to add a lot of texture to the house using my Cuttlebug and 3 different embossing folders. I just thought it made the perfect little house for my sweet little gnome. She is also an SVG that I purchased from Lettering Delights called Good Luck Gnomes. My mushroom comes from that set also.

You can really see the texture in this picture and how I popped the roof and flower box.

I found this cute little butterfly button at Walmart in the clearance section. I had to cut off the shank of the button so that it would lay flat. I thought it was really cute.

Here are the details:

SVG Files ~ Lettering Delights Good Luck Gnomes
Egg House ?
Cricut Cartridge ~ Accent Essentials for background shape
Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ Quirky Quotes
Peachy Keen Stamps ~ PK-560 Dolly Dumplins Face Assortment
Designer Paper ~ My Mind’s Eye Where the Heart Is; DCWV Autumn Splendor
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders ~ Tiny Mosiac (roof), Floral Fantasy (house)
Sizzix Embossing folder ~ Argyle (flower box)
Ranger Distress Ink ~ Tea Dye
Misc. ~ Brad, butterfly button, gems, white and black gel pens, foam tape, ATG

Sympathy Card ~ Pumpkin Spice Design Team call Entry

Good Evening, my crafty friends! I have been busy crafting the last few days and still have a few items on my list to get done.

This morning my father-in-law called and informed us that my husband's cousin had past away. My husband wasn't close to this cousin and I had never met him but we wanted to send his cousin's parents a sympathy card. I was trying to decide on a design and was thinking about what I wanted to do when I happened upon Courts Crafts. Court was sharing about a few design team calls and so I decided I would give the Pumpkin Spice design team call a try. I had to get to this quickly as the deadline is tomorrow!

Pumpkin Spice is an online paper crafting store with discounted prices. This was the first time I have looked through thier store and I must say the that the prices are mush less than others. I plan on purchasing a few things in the near future. You should check them out. You will not be disappointed.

The requirements for the design team call was to make a new project using 2 lines of paper that they had listed.

I wanted a soft and pretty look to my card so I went with soft colors and papers from 2 of my favorite paper lines, My Mind's Eye and Echo Park.

Here is a close up of the beautiful petal pink crinkle ribbon and pearls.

Here is a list of products I used to create this card:

My Mind's Eye ~ Where the Heart Is (green polka dots and soft yellow)
Echo Park ~ Life is Good (the two shades of pink on the flower)
Solid color is DCWV
Cricut cartridges ~ A Child's Year for the oval and scalloped oval ; Cindy Loo for the flower and scalloped border.
Ranger Distress Ink ~ Tea Dye to ink around all the edges
Petal Pink Crinkle Ribbon from My Craft Spot
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder ~ Swiss Dots
Bo Bunny ~ Crazy Love Jewels ( or in this case pearls :) )
Other miscellaneous items: ATG, foam tape, glue gun, and piercing tool

Don't forget to check out Pumpkin Spice. You will love their prices and their products!

A Sweet Hello

Hello, my crafty friends!

I have another card for you today. This card is made for a very special aunt. She and I pretty much grew up together as she is only 2 years older than I. She is in the hospital and I wanted to send her a cheery card.

Of course, I decided to use some challenges to bring it together.

The first challenge is for Peachy Keen Stamps Let's Face It Friday challenge. For this challenge you must use a PK face and use patterned paper.

The second challenge is for Ruthie's (September Ninth) Tacky Tuesday Challenge on Facebook. This month's challenge is to use a cool treat and include the word "Sweet" in the sentiment.

The third challenge that I am entering this in is at My Craft Spot. This week's challenge is "Inking It Up."

Here is the card I created:

And here is a close up of my PK face.

I wasn't sure if my cherry was going to be big enough for a face but with the assortment packages of Peachy Keen Stamps you are sure to find one that fits just about any cut.

Here are the details:

Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge for all my cuts. The backgound shape is sized at 3.74 x 5.36 and 3.48 x 4.98
